I'd be nervous other teams wouldn't want to deal with the Canucks after a fleecing like that, so straight up is fine.

im not following league closely so not sure of this , but think i read avs need a depth center and goalie ? maybe they already added a depth goalie ? if not thinking a compher + lyon + another depth peice for a 2nd might work . redwings retain on jt and maybe add a lesser draft pick

Mittlestadt doesn't have much value. Rantanen is elite but on the final year of his contract so why would Canucks trade 2 of their 3 best forwards for 4 months of a guy

Petterson has more value than Rantanen (expiring contract, plays wing, poor defensively).

Boeser is also expiring but quite frankly is 38 times the player that Mittelstadt will ever hope to be.

Canucks would only do this if Rantanen comes extended at a fair deal and the Avs take back the OEL buyout hit and retain on Mittelstadt.

I was going to say I don't know that Petterson and Boeser are worth Rantanen alone, but here we are.

The wood they'd want is there, but I'm not sure.

There is a history of Makar coming in and taking prime minutes and bullying away other young defenders who threaten his status. Byram and Girard are two examples. Look at Girard's stats before Makar established himself and started to act like he was more important than the team.

I would not go so far as to say Girard is anywhere near Hughes. But Girard has had his development derailed by Makar (intentionally so).

Girard is a wonderful teammate and person who suffered in a toxic work environment that would break many people.
