Perfectly alright with it, Colorado has had good luck with waivers in the past, if we can turn Aube-Kubel into a Matt Nieto I'll be happy

Kind of annoying that Vancouver didn't make a claim on him, to complete the MacEwan for Aube-Kubel swap. I would've liked that just fine, as a depth swap. But that's assuming Vancouver actually had priority, which, is neck and neck at this point? But regardless...a different 4th line grinder wasn't going to change things significantly for the Canucks either way. They've got much bigger issues. Namely, the guy behind the bench who is predominantly making the calls on which of these fringe/bottom-line sort of players get the spots and icetime in the first place. Until that's fixed...:dunno:

With the way we keep losing players to injury, this is a good pickup. Shouldn’t be more than a 4th liner. I’m ok with this.

If he has a little bit of Downie in him, I'm fine with the claim. Everyone needs a little bit of chaos neutral in their NHL team.

Solid fourth line energy guy that's prone to take bone headed penalties. He had a great playoffs in the bubble and regressed last year, like most of the team. He has third line potential and I hope he does well for Colorado. Poor asset management by Chuck, nothing new.

This is the 2nd time Fletcher has shit the bed when it comes to waiving a player where there were obvious other options (Thompson). Last year it was with Friedman, where he picked a 35 year old career AHLer, Nate Prosser, over Friedman who has now gone on to be a cheap depth defenseman elsewhere.

NAK has struggled, but I have no doubt he'll turn it around, especially on a team like COL. Meanwhile, Thompson will continue to do nothing but suck. This move will likely save NAK's career, so good for him on getting out of Philly

From what I understand he’s going to fit Colorado’s system pretty well. I could see him becoming a regular in the lineup.

Now that Logan O’Connor is moving up the lineup they need to replace him on the 4th line.

This guy sounds like a great fit if all he does is forecheck (Avs have one player that does this) but he’s no good at skating with the puck (every Avs player is good at this).
