Yea, he's not a great hockey player, but he's a great teammate and just fills in wherever he is asked to. Love having him on the team.Making fun of Macdermid has been a fun meme since his summer acquisition for the Avalanche, as his advanced stats on defense are literally all 0s and the own-zone heat map looks like a gunshot wound.
65 games in? I love him.
Just gotta think with one‘s right brain exclusively lol

How bad did you think he would be? . . .
Anyone who has ever played competitive hockey knows that guys like him bring things that aren't quantifiable by analytics. If he allows guys like Mack, Landy, Makar, etc. to play their game better then he's a net positive. Granted, he only really needs to be in the lineup against certain opponents too.Making fun of Macdermid has been a fun meme since his summer acquisition for the Avalanche, as his advanced stats on defense are literally all 0s and the own-zone heat map looks like a gunshot wound.

I generally am against this kind of signing but agree with the sentiment here. Clearly, his teammates love him, and there are times you need a goon when the other team is taking liberties. It doesn't prevent anything, but you don't want your top guys having to take exception.Anyone who has ever played competitive hockey knows that guys like him bring things that aren't quantifiable by analytics.
