Ya not a huge fan of this deal. We need to add another D, not swap one. Also think Englund is better now but understand why the team wanted to go with the vet here. Still, Englund could have stuck around for a few more seasons.
Adding a D would mean we would have to waive one when Makar comes back, no?

I am not a huge JJ fan, but if you are asking me who I would rather have play 12-15 min in a playoff game it is JJ every time.

Englund could be a guy that plays the 6/7 role for a few years in the NHL, or he could never see an NHL game again after this year. There was some stuff in his game you liked, but lots you did not.

If you watch Avs hockey and follow the team, it is easy to see that this team does indeed rely a lot on chemistry, fit, and loyalty. Maybe to a fault, bit it is what has gotten them here.

I don't understand this trade from either perspective. Hawks lose a supreme tank commander. Are the Avs making a late season push for Bedard???

Possible move so he finishes his career with the Avs after winning the Cup last season?

given what his parents did to him I'm always happy to see Johnson is still playing. From a purely hockey perspective though I can't say I get it.

So...they basically just loaned him to Chicago for a bit to keep him busy? Cool.

I was so confused because I thought JMFJ played for Colorado. Now that I realize what happened, I'm even more confused.
