I think the best thing to do if Moose doesn't want to re-sign is to do a sign and trade to try and maximise his value.I'd rather risk losing Rantanen for nothing.

It's about Pettersson avoidance for me, in large part.I think the best thing to do if Moose doesn't want to re-sign is to do a sign and trade to try and maximise his value.
Imagine if Nečas was DEVELOPED INTO A FU^KING CENTRE.That’s a KK issue not a Jost one.
Send the Burns & Rants at 50% retention remaining could get some nice stuff?Wonder what an LA package would look like.
Another Spence? The suspence is killing me.
Replying to my own post lol , i Say the Caps cause they have like 4 players in the top 50 and because they are in 1st place and Ovi last chance they will be the ones paying the most to have Rantanen and Orlov maybe squeeze Andersen in there lolkeep him for the playoff , and hope he likes it here or trade him to washington who would give the most 2 players and 2 draft pics , i dont want a roster player that ca play now especially UFAs , whats the point its wont be 1/3 of necas was , or let the rangers speak to rantanen and if they feel good about siging him , trade for laferiniere , im not really a fan , hes young and who know he might produce here , at least we get a bonoified first round pic and long contract good if he ends up putting 60 poins , From this site the 2 caps players and at least 2 draft pick not this year (26-27-28 chances caps will be low in standings) would be nice ,with orlov and rantanen retained tsn top 50
I don’t think you’d get Byfield and Clarke even if Rantanen comes with an extension I think it’s more likely 1 of them a first and something elseIf Dreger is right, that seems to hint at LA being a team he would re-sign with, so I would approach any trade talks as not trading for a rental.
In that case, ask for Byfield and Clarke.
King fan who came here to ask just that.Wonder what an LA package would look like.
You're going to get a lot of disagreement here because some of us think we need a Burns replacement to go next to Slavin on the top-pair and some of us think that's Morrow, if not to start the next season, by the end of next season...but the organization seems to lean toward the second with some talk that may want a lower-pair RHD to give them options.King fan who came here to ask just that.
LA's most tradeable asset is a young RHD. Is that something Carolina would even want/need? I'm not sure if we make good trade partners.
Kings can't do Byfield because they'd be short on centers.
Late first decent prospect decent young roster player I’ll pass and take my chances playing it out that’s a garbage return Rantanen isn’t just your regular rental players like him don’t get moved at the deadline that oftenGetting a Byfield or Clarke would be great, but I just don’t see that happening for a Rantanen as a rental.
I’m think they’re getting a 1st + decent prospect + decent, young roster player if they trade him. Still a haul for a rental, but not close to a Necas.
Unfortunately the options aren’t great from what I can see likely available Pageau,Coyle,Strome,Kunin,EvansWe don't need a Burns replacement. We already have our successor in Morrow. The biggest need on our team is a right-handed center, ideally a 2C like Byfield, but could also be a good 3C type like Pageau depending on the value.

I agree I just think Lou is too stubborn to actually sell and he won’t get movedPageau would be a great pickup even if he's not a flashy one. Elite faceoff numbers for a right shot and solid defensive numbers. Sure, we'd have an odd lineup of a 1C and three very good-to-great 3Cs, but Pageau would represent a significant right-now upgrade to Drury.
Morrow is not likely to be the answer at #1 RHD. Could he fill in for the Burns or TDA level we’ve had as of late? Sure. But if 4 nations didn’t show you how much we could use an actual top RHD paired with Slavin then you just weren’t watching. They don’t come available often but I’d say it’s one of our biggest needs, ahead of 2C. Although there is the option of trying Nikishin next to Slavin, which I’m an advocate for.We don't need a Burns replacement. We already have our successor in Morrow.
