If Necas keeps producing, Nate isn't even going to remember who Mikko is.
Just play well and all is well.

Necas will start scoring goals too. Just need some empty net situations and he'll fill the Moose role out.Too early to make one for one comparisons between Mikko and Necas, but....Necas can flat out fly. And I know one thing: he's different than Mikko. And different is good. The PP looked energized.
CMac knew the team needed a jolt. But instead of the chest paddles, he hooked up the jumper cables to the friggin' Die Hard and applied them directly to Nate's gonads.
If this is the Necas we're getting, I'm feeling a lot better about this.
The X factor is Nuke. You throw a (clean and sober and healthy) Nuke into the Mac/Necas/Drouin mix and....yikes.Necas will start scoring goals too. Just need some empty net situations and he'll fill the Moose role out.
Hmmmm you’re right, I should go to IKEA…..The X factor is Nuke. You throw a (clean and sober and healthy) Nuke into the Mac/Necas/Drouin mix and....yikes.
Landeskog would be Swedish gravy.

Nuke is the difference between having a shot at winning the Cup and not. Simple as that to me and our history kinda proves it.The X factor is Nuke. You throw a (clean and sober and healthy) Nuke into the Mac/Necas/Drouin mix and....yikes.

You’re forgetting the guy who’s currently the only guy with 20 goals on the team. Throw Lehky into that mix tooThe X factor is Nuke. You throw a (clean and sober and healthy) Nuke into the Mac/Necas/Drouin mix and....yikes.

Can you do the same for Makar and MacKinnon?
One positive is that I no longer have to hear "well, he has Mikko Rantanen" as a way to justify screwing MacKinnon out his MVP.
Or "MacKinnon only has 8 more points than the second leading scorer while Player X has 21 more points than his teammate." This is actually the worst one that has really taken off in recent years.
This one might not go away.
Necas was 11th in the league in points when we got him. He’s 10th after 2 games.
Yeah, it’s a 20 point gap, but Necas is going to keep skyrocketing up the charts playing with MacK and the chemistry he’s even developing with Makar.
The cap will be way up when his next contract kicks in, I don't care if they give him 10M if he deserves it.14M x 8yrs for Necas in the sumner?

10M in 2 years is a lot different for this team than 14M next year.
Well, if true...not a bad offer. Wonder if they immediately offered it and then went....errrrrr....uh.....nevermind.Colorado Avalanche's Final Contract Offer to Mikko Rantanen Leaked by Elliotte Friedman Colorado Avalanche's Final Contract Offer to Mikko Rantanen Leaked by Elliotte Friedman

You say this like the stack of gold coins that Mikko keeps in the treasure rooms of his first and second mansions wouldn't suffer from the missing $6 million of coinsIf he was willing to sign for $12.5m, then he just walked away from the team he spent his entire career and won a Stanley Cup with for a grand total of $6m over 8 years.
What I said but betterMikko: “willing to sign for under market value”.
Also Mikko: Declines a contract which makes him the highest AAV of any winger in NHL history.

Just a wild guess, but I bet his agent was the issue and told him not to worry that they would cave. Well...they didn't. It will be interesting if there is any animosity towards his agent, but if the Canes go deep, I doubt it.If he wanted 14m, I understand both sides walking away.
If he was willing to settle for 12.5m, he left us over $750k a year or a grand total of $6m over 8 years.
Crazy greedy.
