he was scratched last year down the stretch and in the playoffs for the preds last year if my memory serves correctly, given preds D last year was deeper than rangers D will be this year but i dont think id even want to put any tickets in the Franson raffle off despite a 3rd round being fair value

IF Buffalo also retains on his salary to 50% it may be a 2nd or a 3rd+ another pick (5th)

Issue with him on the Preds was that he was a right shot and they had Weber, Jones, and Ellis.

Klein is better defensively and I don't think the upgrade in offense is enough to justify moving Klein for.
If they needed a power play triggerman, then I would be more for this, but the first unit has Pirri and Zibby firing from both sides. Once Zibby starts hitting the net more, the numbers will get better.

Buffalo fans inflating his value. A 3rd? You guys would trade him for a used kleenex that belonged to Tyler Biggs.
A majority of Sabres fans wanted to waive Mike Weber for two seasons prior to trading him to Washington for a 3rd round pick. The same Mike Weber who couldn't find a full-time NHL job this season. Weber has grit that some GM's love, but Franson has pretty good analytics. If Buffalo is out of it, they'll find a taker for a mid-round pick.

The nashville playoffs was 14/15. Not last year.
Teams wanting to make a playoff run should have 1-2 vet Dman as spare pieces in case injuries happen.
In 2006 the Sabres likely win the conference semis snd Cup if they didn't go an injury bug that knocked out 4 of their 6 Dmen.

Yeah will not playing this spring. Clendenning or just about anyone should play above him is clear cut. Gorton have made a fantastic rebound for this team but this is a weird choise.

Is having Cody Franson in your top 4 not unfortunate?
Wouldn't be in NYR top 4 though. Franson is a good bottom pairing guy who can move up in a pinch.
