Coaching is a serious problem.

That would be the correct way to do things. Maybe their teacher, an experienced coach, has an easier time conveying the message because they seemed to have picked it up far quicker.
Habs had an engagement issue at season start which the Rocket didn't have which probably helped.
But yes, Mailloux seems to have suggested that Vincent explained things better too.

That's the difference between a career coach and a rookie coach.

he sounds like a politician, in denial. Basis the entire team's play around beating 2 of the worst teams in the league lol. What a wanker
Despite the loss to Minny - Habs played a solid team game, issue was generating offense, defensive breakdowns were significantly improved

Well that’s great considering 75% of the team is deadwood that won’t be here in that timeframe. So really you’re implementing a "system" to teach the 5-6 core players and hope that somehow all of the new ones coming in learn it far quicker. If not, you’re just floundering.

It makes sense for the Canes who weren’t going to make massive changes to an already talented team. It makes no sense for the Habs.
Vincent said his first mandate when offered the job was to implement the teams “concept”…

A few bad games are on the same level as a few good games. It's just a snapshot and not a trend.

i didn't call for SMarty head untill it was an avalance of losses.

If we go on an extensive winning streak and look good doing it. I don't have a problem eating crow. The more crow pie the marrier...

It's definitely encouraging to see that our play has been better over the past five or six games. You could be right that it's a snapshot but it may also be the start of a trend.

Defensively we're much better. Offensively? I don't see enough sustained pressure for my liking. Having Dach on the 1st is not helping our 2nd... Caufield has done okay carrying that line but I'm not a fan of how it's constructed. I hope we get Dach back there soon.

They sucked bad for the first 15 or so games. Let's see if they can play same as they did last night for the next 15. If yes, may need to move the switch 1/2 way. For me, I want da playoffs.
I want the same. I like the last wins, the Clb win was very nicely done but like every hockey analysts said, it was only Clb. Now they won over one of the best team, or a team with 2 of the hottest players in the league. Is that was a turning point into the team or just a straw fire? Time will tell.

A question we must ask is what happened on the ice. Did the players finally delivered the energy or did they finally followed the game plan? The losses before, that was a coaching problem or the players who didn't showed up? For sure, Marty have still few things to learn. Do people here beleive the best experienced coach would have done better, let's say the best coach, no matter the language requirements?

I think Marty is here to stay. This team will end in the bottom by any logic. Rebuilts are like that. Habs will draft soon next summer, Dvo and Armia will be gone and Rockets will improve with a winning culture. So brighter days are coming, fans need to have some patience.

A snapshot can blend into a trend.

I'm waiting for Laine to come back. If after 5 games with Laine it's still the Chicago Dach then it's going to look like our hopes are misplaced.

I defended him because i had a serious accident and was suprised at the lingering mental effects. But...times heals it.

At some point, its too much and too long.

Dach is still an high question mark. He is projected to be our #2 C and he doesn't do well. By chance Evans is doing well but I don't see Habs planning long term having Evans a regular top 9 forward. There are still lot of game to come, season is early and Dach is one of the players Habs management are looking closely because the structure of the team depends a lot on him.

Well that's the easiest position to take. Its win-win. You get to crap on the team when they do bad, and then enjoy the victories while "virtually" eating crow, whatever that means. It's a no risk position and extremely annoying.

They need to stop f***ing around. Put Dach at 2nd and give him Slaf and CC. See if that works.

Here
Would be nice but I’m not expecting it
X and O’s guy would be fantastic. Bruins playing system is built to win games. Man do we need that.

But I guess there’s no chance he’s coming home as an assistant. Too bad for us.

Unless.......................he wants to put the knife, to the Bruins!! lol

He will wait it out......................he needs to relax and learn how to coach, and not yell at everyone.
He could use some meds...

Carbo was WAY better as an AC because his role wasn’t to enforce discipline and couldn’t be a hard ass.

My “guess” is Monty could be that guy here were systems and coaching those systems would be good for him and the team. There’s no cap for coaching right ;)

Benching his star players did not work. It's a gutsy move but if it doesn't pay off, you're really exposed.

I'd at least ask if Montgomery would chime in as an Associate Coach til the end of the season, many asked for St-Louis to be supported by an experienced coach, well there's one on a silver platter right now, and he comes from Montreal.
