Was unwell so missed the game yesterday but I am getting optimistic about Firkus. Another point for him yesterday getting him up to 4 points in 5 games. His +/- is also a team leading +3, so does not appear like his offense is coming at the expense of defense. Our team desperately needs someone with the game breaking skill like him, Catton, Sale, etc. so good to see that he started well.

3 point night for Winterton in tonight’s win over Bakersfield. Firkus doesn’t appear to have played.
 
The third period today was a clinic by the Firebirds. Up by 2 goals but forechecking like they are down by 2. Have dominated possession and even when the Eagles get chances, they are one and done because of the high pressure they are putting on.

Why can’t the parent club play like this?

It was pretty much what the Kraken were doing over the first 4-5 games. The Firebirds are a young team and there are growing pains but they are starting with a clean slate at the pro level. They are buying into the system and executing.

I know Eberle just made sense from the captain perspective but maybe we should have gone with a louder voice in the locker room.

Nyman has looked good to me. He works hard and has created plays but others just can't finish. I think part of the lack in production is simply because the roster has been overhauled significantly. The team has got much younger, and the chemistry in a lot of lines is off.

Kokko gets the start tonight, backed up by Ostman. Grubauer taking his time reporting?

Nyman added to the AHL all star roster taking Fleury’s vacated spot. Good for him.

Sprong scores the winner in OT.

I dunno man...I dont want to see Grubauer and Sprong as "the guys we're talking about" for CV. I want to talk about Nyman, Sale, Winterton, Kokko?
