I’m Russian speaker too and I listened full podcast.
Unfortunately, Kovalenko wasn’t joking.
I don’t know, is he just wants to absolve himself of blame or it’s true about Warsofsky, but after this video I have feeling that he doesn’t want be a Shark long.
As I understand, he wants more ice time and he thinks that he deserves bigger role. It’s just my opinion, but looks like he doesn’t like Sharks play style too.
As he said, he learned English 2 years before coming to NHL, but he talks in locker room almost all the time only with Russian speakers.
Also he veiled criticism of McKinnon's character and attitude to training.

Grier should just trade him.
I have liked the guy so far, but if he has veiled criticism of MacKinnon, who famously is extremely disciplined and seemingly high character and is the de facto captain of a cup winner, maybe he's not the guy for us.

Just let Kovalenko walk in the offseason. He's too small for the bottom six and not skilled enough to play top six consistently anyway.

if i remember right, GMMG really pushed for his inclusion in the deal. Maybe another team feels the same and will give a 2nd or something for him as a cheap top 9 option?

Every joke has at least a tiny seed of truth to it

If that seed is big enough for him to blurt it out, part of him definitely believes it a little bit, whether it's true or not

As a general rule, I think all malcontents should be moved as soon as a fair deal can be found

And you would think of the Sharks saw his future at C he would have spent time in the last year and a half at the position.

Also I think you are referring to his short call up after signing his ELC two years ago playing in meaningless games. He is not e even a quality AHL C.
He played 27 games with the Sharks that season. Your statement that he never played center was wrong.
