I’ve heard other Wild fans describe his play similarly. But it’s strange and I don’t know what to tell all of you… but he has looked fine here.

I wouldn’t say fast or speedy, but shows a high motor and is constantly working.

I made the comparison that he reminds me of former third line hard worker… Claude LaPointe from way back.

Even at the end in Minnesota he worked hard and had a high motor.....but he was always the slowest guy on his line. Maybe he wasn't healthy, not sure.

I've watched about 10-15 Islanders games this season and Parise has been one of the best players for them in my opinion. Even though the points haven't necessarily come, he still looks fantastic to me.

I think Parise got too comfortable in Minnesota, and he picked up on bad habits and wasn't having fun anymore. Buying him out was the best thing for both Parise and the Wild.

Clutterbuck still a wrecking ball/solid 4th liner and good penalty killer. Any playoff team could use him. Don't think he will return more then a 3rd but wherever he goes he will be an asset in the playoffs.

NYI would be smart to take a 3rd for Clutterbuck.

They don’t own their own 2nd, 4th, or 7th in this draft and their 3rd in next season’s draft either.

They have to supplement that from somewhere…

Yup, I’d definitely be down to bring him back if I was NYI but they could also use any picks they can get.

I’ve been saying in the isles GDTs all year. One of the strangest things I’ve seen. He’s played excellent but the production isn’t there.

That's silly
Why? Clutterbuck is just a goon, and even at 50%, his cap hit is too much and would be wiser spent elsewhere.
I guess teams could hypothetically be interested in Parise, but I don't know why anyone would pay for him. He hasn't been productive this season, he isn't versatile, he isn't very good at defense, he doesn't really play a playoff game, he's never had post season success of his own. Usually contending teams have enough mediocre options for their fourth line wings.

This screams “I don’t watch the Islanders but I hate that Clutterbuck guy because he hits”. Cal is anything but a goon (considering he doesn’t fight), he’s an agitator that can play a solid bottom 6 wing role as well as kill penalties.

Not going to entertain this post, your premise's aren't valid.

You don’t watch the Isles.

To be honest I think adding both Clutterbuck and Parise would be huge additions for any playoff team.

Obviously the Rangers and Islanders would never make a trade like this but for the NYR, sending picks and McKegg and Morgan Barron the other way would be a great idea for the Rangers.

Something like -

To NYR:
Parise
Clutterbuck

To NYI:
McKegg
Barron
2022 2nd round pick
2022 4th round pick

That's bad for the Rangers. Barron's the team's only NHL-ready C prospect & has looked ready for a bottom 6 spot this season. Adding in a 2nd as well for a pair of pending UFA's is silly. Something like McKegg, 3rd, Reunanen (who's good, just buried in the NYR depth chart) [or maybe Hajek/Skinner], maybe another minor piece would be closer.

In both of these cases, imo they only get traded if + where they want to be traded. We're talking a 3rd-5th round range pick each, depending upon how many teams they're each willing to accept trades to.

Clutterbuck has good value and is the type of player you want for playoff run. Underrated. Smart player, good skater, draws some penalties, very good on PK, physical and has a pretty good shot. Always one of my favorites and I hope he gets shot at a SC. Maybe get a low 2 or a #3. Would be a very good fit for Rangers but I don’t see that happening.

I always liked Parise’s game but wish we had him from the beginning and Isles drafted him when had the opportunity. He is a very smart player still, all effort all the time. High energy, good PK and I think has a little left in bottom six. He won’t hurt a team. It does seem he has lost his hands a bit though. Return is a #4 at best.

Clutterbuck the better get for a team at this point.
