Slow or not, Ovy and Strome had a couple of grade A chances, so I get it.Not the best way to go on the break but what can you do.
Why is Carbs so insistent on playing our slowest players in OT?

I’d like to see Frank get a legit opportunity in a situation where his skills are best suited.Slow or not, Ovy and Strome had a couple of grade A chances, so I get it.
Yes it looks like someone told them "it's all luck anyway so just shoot" or something.Does anyone else get the vibe that this team doesn't practice for or care about the shootout? Every attempt they've had this year has seemed... lackadaisical to me. Coming in slow, not a lot of stickhandling, then snapping off a wrister from 15 ft out.
And honestly, if that's their choice I kinda get it. Practice time and energy is limited, they only have a SO once every 15-20 games or so, they've known they aren't gonna be scrapping for a playoff spot for a while now, and it doesn't matter for the playoffs. Just frustrating because I hate the SO to begin with and this year their SOs are just about unwatchable.
And Oshie.I liked it with Hendricks.
Milano would have been suitable skill set for the shootout. I'm inclined to think Carbs does not put special emphasis with 3vs3 OT/Shootout. He probably leaves it up to assistants on that stuff. The skills competition is not our friend.
Not really. The Caps are 1 point behind the Jets with a game in hand, for the top team in the NHL. The team hasn't been playing their best of late, and Carbs/Assistants will make sure the players know some little bad habits are creeping into their game. 2 weeks off is good for the whole team. None of the roster is playing in the joke 4-Nations NHL PR showcase. We don't have to worry about any of ours players sustaining an injury. In most normal NHL seasons you don't get a long break like this. 1st week the players probably will do nothing and then in 2nd week they will get engaged with coaches for some good hard practices.Better to rally for the one pt but it should never have been at that point. Continually play down against not so good teams. Yeah, they won't see any 'bad' teams in the playoffs but it's a wart on the season.
Yeah, the apples don't do anything for the chase, but when he's playing like this is really when he's at his best. Totally engaged and wreaking havoc.Would prefer a hatty of goals but a hatty of assists in not that bad.
idk, by my reckoning Ovie needs only 1,252 more assists to tie Gretz.Yeah, the apples don't do anything for the chase, but when he's playing like this is really when he's at his best. Totally engaged and wreaking havoc.
We are the f’ing suck at the shootout
