Pre-Game Talk: CLINCHED: 2025 Playoffs --Seventh Straight Year!

First off, THANK YOU to Rod, the players, TD, ET for making it ho ho ho hum basic protocol to make the postseason. I do not cheer for any team as successful and/or likable.

I will always celebrate nights where this team clinches a playoff berth. I still fondly remember April 4th, 2019.

I was one of the folks that didn't doubt this. Think my prediction was our step back would amount to 108-110 points, which doesn't look too bad right about now. Not exactly how I thought we'd get here on this weird ride but I said I liked the fits of the guys we brought in, that the front office had earned the benefit of the doubt, and that the culture and system would make things better than many expected.

Looking forward to another playoff run no matter what happens because I remember all too well what every year without the playoffs felt like.

Here are my ideas for Playoff Avs if people want to do some-- I didn't want to share them until we officially clinched. Doesn't matter to me if we decide not to do a theme as a group, but I wanted to get the discussion rolling, because we usually take a while and a few plot twists on this board to decide lol:

1. Tripp’s Breakdown / Tripp to the Stanley Cup, etc: Basically based on made up stories, exaggerations of crazy Tripp stories (e.g. Taylor Swift wrote Aho’s letter to the fans). With these, even people who don’t like to change avs could participate by just writing random short stories in their description/that space under their avatar.
2. Something like XYZ Character Cares, We Like It Here, some post-Rantanen theme [e.g., Svech is a PPG (Penalty per game player) → Svech Cares, We Like it Here, etc.

Heck I’m at the point where I have to remind myself not to gloss over NJ because I’m pretty confident the canes will beat them in round 1. I can’t imagine taking a Time Machine and telling myself 10 years ago or even 20 years ago post cup win high that I’d be thinking about the playoffs for this team this way
