Maybe they could have used a smaller, point-per-game playmaking winger like Keller.

I would have had Keller on the U.S squad and would have played him with a guy like Matthews. The U.S. brass didn't see him in a bottom six role though which is why he didn't make the team. In hindsight the top six/bottom six approach they employed didn't pan out. I wouldn't say the 4th line was worthless, but it didn't do much. We needed more scoring.

Might be the most underrated star player in the league. 16th in the league on both cumulative scoring and even-strength scoring over the last 3 seasons, on a team that hasn’t offered him much help (obviously it’s coming now though).

I really like Kellers game. He is very underrated.

I think their lower end picks would have made sense a year or two ago but those players have regressed and USA probably needed to rethink the roster design based on the best current talents.
