NYPost confirms cause of death (Hanging)

Hopefully it's not too controversial to say, but if you're gonna end your life, at least try and think of a way to not cause PTSD to someone close to you.
is there a way not to? not trying to be graphic or disrespect the man but there are waaaay worse ways you could find a loved one. also not attacking you or anything. suicide just sucks man

Just read about this today. He was one of my most hated players back in the day...but tip of the cap, the guy knew how to win. 4 cups isn't luck.

RIP, my condolences to his family. Saddens me to hear this is how he went out.

Which is probably right on par with averages of men that age. I've lost 2 in the last 3 that have no possible CTE

Getting old blows. Your best days are long gone, your kids are now adults and no have time for you, retirement for blue collar folk looks more and more impossible with each passing year, reserved for only the very wealthy. If you're lucky you still have your health...for now. Its quite the wall to go up against.

May he forever rest in peace. I will always remember him as the pest that played with an edge during the peak of the Detroit and Colorado rivalry. He did his job and did a damn good one at that. Tragic ending but a beautiful career.

Aging definitely the worst part of life that I’m feeling myself being in late 40’s now. New things you never had to deal with before start popping up, your body starts failing you because it’s not as strong. Recently had surgery for a torn bicep tendon. That wouldn’t happen in my young days. I get back pain often for no reason now. I now have anxiety and no idea where this came from as I don’t recall ever having this in my 20’s or 30’s. I’ll chalk this up to getting covid and nearly dying from it. But another lousy part of aging that’s probably worse is all the people that are gone from your life. In the past 10 years or less I’ve lost my dad, grandma, and two uncles. And my only uncle left nearly went too but he’s doing better now. Anyway we don’t really know what he was going through. For some the only option is to end it. I kind of get it for those. What do you even do when your life never gets better no matter how much you try. There are people that try and try and nothing ever changes and the only wait out of this prison of life is to end it. He was going through some kind of hell there’s no doubt about that. To actually go through with hanging yourself you have to be living a life of torture. I’m sorry that this is what he was going through. All the best to his loved ones.

It's as much the whole context of the situation as the specific manner that he took his life. i.e doing it in the family business, unexpectedly to have them walk in and find you.

The son is probably gonna be scarred for life

Whatever,he obviously was in hell and wasn't thinking, sad.

Good job arena. Memorial Cup match.

They just did a small ceremony before the game. They said he was born in 1956 - 2026 on the big screen. I took a pic asap and just caught it as it faded to a pic of fans.

Bettman has been great for hockey. However, it’s time for him to acknowledge brain damage is a problem and something to work on.
Too much liability to do that. He’s a smart lawyer. But I agree it’s an issue on his watch that he hasnt managed.
