I'm not justifying the thefts, but that doesn't one should not take simple precautions. Again, don't know if lack of precaution occurred in these instances, could just be really bad luck, just a bit odd it's happened twice so close to each other.

Or people who earn seven figure salaries tend to buy the same luxury SUVs (Lexus, Range Rover) that crime rings prioritize and have the tools to electronically key-fob-clone.

Most thefts of such vehicles aren’t done by the thieves possessing the owner’s actual key - just being able to trick the car into thinking they do, allowing them to drive away.
