He might’ve been told by his own coaching staff, he could’ve been told by league officials. We have zero explanation. It’s ridiculous to think he would fight past something like that, run out there and do it. I understand he has a bad rep, but just assuming that’s the reason here is off base. There should be an explanation first.

Nah it’s a forced tradition under the meaningless guise of “class” and “respect”.

A league that frequently looks the other way on CTE and sexual assault wants you to believe that because two men shake hands that it’s a serious league.

That’s towards the league. Sure skip the Bettman bs. I would love for the players to all just ignore that f***ing loser.

The handshakes is for the players. It’s mutual respect for each other. The union they belong to, most of them are mates when the game is over.

If you can’t see why it’s different I don’t know what to tell you mate. Because in the NFL all the players after the game are on the field hugging and shaking hands and talking to each other because they respect each other. Sure you have some that are assholes like Kane that make it about themselves. But that part is something the players do out of respect. It’s why Maurice even wanted to stay out of it because the focus is on the players. It’s not a league mandated thing.

I 100% agree with you on how much the nhl is a joke for sexual assault, racism, and cte treatment.

I don’t think the players do it out of respect. I think they do it because they have to. There’s no respect in this league.

In that moment it’s about the battle but after you don’t think some of them train together? Because they do. But hey you want to think they’re entirely cynical and that’s your choice.

But in this case it’s about Evander Kane. He has a career filled with being a self serving douche that has alienated his teammates and others. This is just how he is and somehow blokes are saying the tradition is the issue vs the dipshit bloke that has always been an asshole.
 
Yes. E. Kane is a classless idiot. He’s got value in trade though. Sadly, clubs will overlook his classless (and loser) behaviour because he can play.

If you think you beat trash then you are only a bloke that thinks you can beat trash. They may act like they deserved to win and were better but you don’t sit there and say they sucked because then it undermines your entire battle to get there as well.

Have you never played sports? It applies to a lot of things. You raise your game to better the opponent. You get better by beating better competition. No one goes “well I won because they sucked ass to the finals and then we beat them too.” lol

If they do, then oh well. The jokes the panthers are hurling at the oilers, good. The rat bs and hiring a sexual assault hiding loser, then the Kane shit too, no one is feeling sorry for the Oilers.

I don’t expect anyone to feel sorry for the Oilers. They were shit in the Finals. I’m sure the Panthers felt tons of respect for them though lmao.
