His contract already guaranteed $8.5 mill of $14.25 mill option bonus, he is due in 2025. Unlikely they end up cutting him.The team is not going anywhere this season. There would be no point in bringing him back even if he could play.
Based on his contract, SF pretty much has to expect 2025 will be their final year with him. Go year to year if they want him back for 2026 and onwards.Looks like a 6 week recovery. Takes him out for the year…but it means he should have a full offseason. Has to be taken as good news. Lost year but he has a much better chance to come back strong next year than feared.
Not sure the other 2 first would impact SF if they had stayed put and taken Mac Jones at 12. Would have had to pass on a QB that draft to secure a good player, be it Vera-Tucker OG or Darrisaw OT or someone like that.Niners missed their window IMO, this seals the deal. With a big money Purdy extensions coming, they will lose some significant players,
Their best chance to win the whole thing has passed them by.
yeah, taking the same guy #1 in two drafts is a no-no. i almost did that in 2017 with david johnson when he got injured in week 1. luckily i took bell #1 in my other leagueThis ones on me guys. First time ever I get first overall in both of my drafts and I stupidly took him in both. My ability to jinx players knows no bounds.
I knew I should have taken Chase in one of the two the moment I took him in the second league.

I swear both my drafts are drinking affairs so I do dumb shit like that. I was so pumped to get the first overall (I am almost always the guy that picks after the clear cream of the crop is gone) that I didn't think it through. Both live drafts too, way too many distractions.yeah, taking the same guy #1 in two drafts is a no-no. i almost did that in 2017 with david johnson when he got injured in week 1. luckily i took bell #1 in my other league
Similar trajectory as the Cowboys when Prescott was on his rookie deal. Those were the most complete Cowboys teams in decades, but the supporting cast inevitably suffered when he got his 2nd contract.Niners missed their window IMO, this seals the deal.
