I don't see what's wrong with manning from a 3rd pair guy with solid average range numbers for a Defensive player.
Kunitz is an awful piece but already looking for him as a trade chip. I'm glad so far no cap hampering deal is signed with the space they had.

Why, to take a roster spot from a youngster so Q has his aging, slow, OTH vet to play way too much in inappropriate situations, of course. Isn’t it obvious???

So why aren't his forwards playing smart and covering? Sounds like a Haskol problem...
But it is mainly a concern since Q didnt seen to like Kempnys pinch choices, though it was more at the blueline than him ever going into the ozone. I'd be fine with that if the team plays to cover.

Honestly, these are bad signings....*puts on tinfoil hat*...maybe it's Bowman giving into Q's asks for players just so he can show McD after another unsuccessful season that he gave Q what he wanted and still failed and thus saves his own job when Q gets the boot.

As a Flyers fan, I can say "thank you!" for making it official.
But seriously, if your coach uses Manning as a 7th defenseman, he's ok. He'll stick up for his teammates, drop his gloves if he has to (but will likely get beat up), and he has some sneaky offense to his game, but his hockey IQ is low and he tends to over commit when defending leading to a lot of blown coverages
