When did CK bitch? Also this idea that he didn’t give his all is BS. CK himself has said he would overthink things but that’s different than not giving effort. I mean I know you don’t like the guy but be a tad bit fair
His entire career he has gone milk carton for many stretches at a time, or has seem disinterested. He is ultimate feast or famine.

And he completely bitched and sulked last year. And maybe for others. There is alot os smoke about his lack of leadership.

Messier and graves would have eaten him alive.

That’s just silly. I understand it may be time to move on but shitting on the guy especially with BS seems agenda driven

Why would Kreider campaign for some guy who had been there for 5 minutes to be captain over him? Its clear the organization wanted someone to step up and take the reigns because they didnt even name a captain until gallant's second season. it was Kreider's to take. that should have been understood as the only guy who made it through the rebuild. the fact that it wasnt points to an issue.

A huge issue that gets breezed past way too often.

Our. Lockerroom. Sucks.

And that's at the feet of our vets. Not the coaching staff, and not the kids. We need a culture overhaul something fierce. Giving the kids more breathing room seems like the most logical start to that. Make Cuylle, Laf, et al. accountable for team success and see what happens.

I think you looking at something that isn’t there. The guy was a really good Ranger. Caused no issues. Seems like some are shutting on him because he has a bad year like everyone else. But to be fair he was dealing with a ton of injuries and the vertigo so won’t be surprised seeing him bounce back even in Anaheim

There's something there about the captaincy for sure. But like I originally said we'll never know. Good Ranger, appreciate his contributions especially in the playoffs but it definitely seems like over the past year hes been in the middle of some locker room issues.

this locker room never fought for each other. Goes back to the Wilson/Panarin incident. they always needed to be enticed by some on-ice embarrassment. Look at Florida and Edmonton and the pack mentality they play with. we've got nothing close to that because the vets play their own way and the kids get sidelined.

I find it extremely doubtful but I’m not trying to change your mind. Some others I can agree but we’ve seen him for what 13 years so I think we have a good idea he’s a good teammate despite some revisionist history I’ve seen lately

I remember @Edge at the time mentioning both kreider and zib had their flaws as leaders and if you were able to combine them they’d be the perfect captain. I believe the issues included Kreider not being overly personable within the locker room, and very much keeping to himself while zib had effort issues which would set a bad example for the younger players.

I wonder what Pat Verbeek thinks of the Rangers organization. Neil Smith gave up 2 guys and a 1st and a 4th for him. The little ball of hate had 97 points in 89 regular season games and 19 points in 20 playoff games. Then Smith let him walk in free agency. Not only did Verbeek win the Cup with Dallas but the 1st turned into JS Giguere who also won the Cup. I don't know why anyone takes this organization seriously.
