Player Discussion Chris Kreider

The sad part now is that we get diddly squat as his value is almost ZERO.....back probs do not go away at his age . No team will pay a premium for him . He was a soft guy to start with...this only makes him even softer if and when he can play .

CKs value is definitely lowered but I would not say zero. His goal pace still would give another team hope as will an offseason to get the back right. I think there will be bargain hunters willing to take a chance over the summer just like there were teams willing to roll the dice on Eichel coming off neck surgery.

dude look at the deals we've made this year. lindgren just got us a 2nd +. I honestly can't count out any return as unthinkable.

What about Detroit for a retained Kreids? They lost Copp and Yzerman has seen Kreider up close and personal a good amount.

Kreider
De Haan

for

Wallinder
3rd

Not a fan of Wallinder at all. Rather get something more useful.

Charlie Coyle just brought back Mittelstadt, a 2nd, and a decent/B prospect. West Coast teams are giving up the shop for size, playoff experience, and reputation. The time to trade Kreider is now.

I wish NY had picked up Mittelstadt with him coming that cheap. He's had a rough year, but he's always been good defensively, an even-strength machine, and a distributor from C. For a team whose best assets are scoring wingers, a C like him could do well in the middle six.

Maybe, trades still trickle in after the actual deadline time. But most likely still here.
Probably done, but still hoping. Probably better keeping Kreider until his Value is much better than it is now. Maybe when/if he comes back this year, he will return to being the Chris we know and love?

Hey guys....here is what I was sent [ word for word ] which supposedly was told to a Quebec League Major Junior scout by a former long time NHL assistant coach ......so believe what you want . I don't buy it all....but there likely is some truth in the middle somewhere and I am SURE Kreider was always an enigma to the coaching staff as well as to us fans . His game has changed but I am not so sure it can be pinpointed to one series being the root cause of it . On ice threats have long been a part of the game for many players....this could not have been a first for Kreider . Anyways.....

" He said Mike told him that the team they coached had no leadership. They have nothing against Trouba , other than the money he made , they believed they could replace him cheaper.

This was the year Kreider had 40 goals, they were playing Tampa, and were asked the question about how to stop him. Tampa said he got his goals in front of the net right, the reporter said yes, they responded we will take his hands away. Kreider went to Turk and was complaining that they had said that and he didn't feel comfortable playing against Tampa. Assistant coach told the scout he basically did not go behind the net, along the boards or in front of the net and still plays that way today. Word got around the league and players threaten to run him most games and he vanishes.

Panarin is a Russian, only cares about goals and money .

Zibanejad and Kreider keep to themselves, did what was asked at team functions but no more and didn't interact or lead with the young group of players , they were very disappointed in those 3 forwards.

The owner took Turk and Mike out to supper before the playoffs started and wanted an honest answer from them on what to expect, Turk told him it wouldn't be good, asked why - They are a f__king bunch of pu**y that will not play as a team."

The two parts in bold do not ring true.

The overwhelming majority of CK's goals come from in front of the net so how could he be scared to go in front of the net?

CK is a very strong guy who has thrown the gloves over the years to protect his teammates. He had no problem going right up to Matt Tkachuk and throwing his mouth piece in last years playoffs. Matt is a tough guy but did not want a piece of CK. I think guys around the league know CK is no pushover (before this season). I can't imagine any players on the ice threatening to run him. That part sounds kind of goofy for any player.

I don't see anything in bold in your reply . I tend to agree on some of what you pointed out......maybe not to the extent though on the toughness factor . But it is OK to disagree.
