Player Discussion Chris Kreider

Dont blame him, hes running the country club.
OTOH...he could come back healthy and score 40 EASY enough .....he has the capability to do that if he chooses to do so . But...moving our other guys will be impossible unless they move Lafreniere to plug the D hole and sign some 4th line guys . Drury will have to actually be a GM this season .

Kreider is leading the offseason program at Prentiss. Some country club. No need to train or anything. One big country club sausagefest!

If Laf and Mika are in the plans for next season they should be training here with them. Training back home obviously hasn't done much for their lazy/weak reputations. Train in the NYC area for the Summer with your teammates and actually build something heading into the season. Foxy should be there as well since NY is his home already.

Copied from the other thread, my little Kreider tribute.

As someone who wants to see changes made, Kreider was a hell of a f***ing player for this team. Probably one of our best draft picks ever and last years heroics against Carolina was a top 5 playoff moment for me, i started watching the Rangers in 2005.

Speed, size, a couple of 30+ goal seasons, a 50+ goal season, 300+ goals and a deadly PK guy, Kreider was a very very good player here and regardless of how you felt about him, you have to respect him for finding his game as he got older. Good luck Chris and hopefully you have some good years in Anaheim. Thanks for the memories buddy.

Probably my favorite Ranger of all time. This cements 24-25 as my worst year of Rangers fandom for sure. I think this needed to be done but yea, doesn’t make it any less shitty
Pretty much. I don't understand why people are like, celebrating it. It's not like we robbed Anaheim of McTavish or something.

Well I know what game I'll be at this year.

I hope this wasn't ugly. I know this season was, but he's been a loyal soldier for this organization for a decade plus. Yes its been a rollercoaster at times, but he did what was asked of him.

He also elevated in the playoffs, which just about every Rangers player was allergic to, except Lundqvist and McDonagh. Nash didn't step up, Kreider did. He had big goals, important ones. Even as a prospect, he scored in the big games and showed up.

It honestly felt at this time last year it was a forgone conclusion, he was a lifelong Ranger. Yet here we are, and he has some responsibility in it happening.

He'll be missed. I won't erase all the good years because the last one sucked. It doesn't work that way. I hope it works for him, really do. That's a pretty talented Ducks team adding an elite net front PP and good PKer.

I've been a fan of Kreider's since we drafted him. For much of that time he was my favorite player. I assume injuries played a factor last year but he did not seem very engaged all year long. If the injuries were that bad he needed to sit and he didn't need to play in that 4 Nations NHL tournament.

There are other things---we are short on cap with 6 unsigned RFA's including Cuylle and K'Andre but also Rempe and Edstrom. We need some cap relief and he would be the easiest to move. We also could use a change of culture and the two players we could move that would accomplish that change more than any others would be Chris and Mika. If we could move Mika I would not hesitate to do so but it doesn't appear at the moment that's going to be very easy at all.

Carey Terrance would make a lot of sense. He was born and grew up on the Akwesasne reservation in northern NY. Very community and family oriented up there. I can’t imagine him or his family were too thrilled with moving to California. And he is also a great player
