What's the price for Kreider? He's basically the polished, high end version of what a certain player was supposed to become in Ottawa.

11 goals and a single assit for 12 points in 30 games and the eye test matches the stat line too, as he continues to look lifeless in NY.

Still, Stützle badly needs a winger and a revived Kreider would be a perfect fit. Concurrently, if NYR is looking to rebuild/retool, Kreider/Zibanejad would be to of the first players out the door.

33 yo, 6.5M for 3 years (including this one). What's his value league-wide? And what's the price for Ottawa?

Available: 2025 2nd round pick, Tyler Boucher, Mads Soogard, David Perron, Antom Forsberg (cap), Travis Hamonic (cap), etc.

Kreider - Stützle - Giroux
Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Perron
Cousins - Gregor - Amadio
Ostapchuk/Gaudette

Sanderson - Zub
Chabot - Jensen
Kleven - JBD
Hamonic

Gonna guess it’d cost a bit more than a 2nd. I’d imagine it’d have to be OTT 1st with protection + Greig and then some minor pieces.

I’d be willing to guess OTT would be on his NTC though.

Jesus Christ 🤦‍♂️

So, you want to trade for a 1LW, and only willing to give up a 2nd round pick, a failed former 1st rounder, 2x poor goalies that NYR will never need & 2x bottom line cap dumps?

Well his contract is not actually that bad and is nowhere near washed but you just keep hating because that's what you best.
Not hating being realistic. He's fallen off a cliff this year, on pace for 32 points. 6.5M cap hit until 2027. Woof

I love how players go from top line, team driving players to washed up anchors in 30 games according to HFB 😂

I would take the 2nd and run. By next year you might be the one paying the 2nd just to offload him. The cap space alone is valuable.
....and you expect me to believe you when you say you are 'realistic' 😂

For a 33 year old that depends on his speed to be effective, yes it can happen over one off-season.
....and just like that, you just showed your hand with how little you know. Although Kreider is a very fast skater, he doesn't depend on his speed. Most of his goals come from in & around the crease.

For a quick skater it is actually very rare he uses his speed to score.

I live in NYC so I've seen plenty of him. It's not a slump, he's awful this year. His skating has declined so he can't get into good positions to be effective.

Then you should know he doesn't rely on his speed when he plays.

Yes he has been poor so far this season, along with 95% of the rest of the Rangers team. There is a major issue within the organisation right now but to say he is washed and only worth a 2nd rounder is insanity.

A 2nd rounder isn't nothing with his contract. A team would be insane to part with a 1st rounder or equivalent for him. If he's not washed then he's injured? Who knows but he's total crap this season.

A first with protection doesn't work when they have to give up one of those picks.

Ottawa doesn't really have a wealth of assets, and will have to forfeit a first in the next two years. I assume that if they make the playoffs this year they will want to forfeit it.

Ottawa doesn't have the pieces or cap space to acquire Kreider.

Their target should be Vatrano.
