My counter to that is that every time that they have added grit, it’s been at the fringes. Replacing half of the “core 4” with 2 guys who would be integral pieces might swing momentum.

Granlund - Bennett - Marner

Split them up and have them both playing with a pair of tenacious guys.

Yeah, certainly would help but they still need to it themselves as they're the ones that ultimately the Leafs need to score to win.

Playing on the periphery against Florida (or any other team really) simply doesn't work and they've proved repeatedly that if you take away their time & space they are completely unwilling to fight for it.

But what about their feelings guys! They're people too you know, look at how sad poor Mitchy Marner looked.
