Good character guy and all, but Higgins has never had anything like the jam of Upshall. Makes him a less great fit as a veteran 4th liner type. Combined with the way Higgins' skating has seemed to drop off over the last couple years...i don't think it's really the same sort of thing at all.

Though if Higgins somehow rediscovers his wheels, maybe he's still got something left in the tank. That's a big if though.

Sadly, no. His last leg injury wrecked his skating. I love Higgy, but he's pretty much done at this point.

This is what I was thinking. I had such high hopes for him when he started with the Habs but alas he never was able to reach a high level of production consistently.

Can't see any room for him in cow town, more than likely just a favor by Gulutzan in hopes he gets noticed.
