5 minutes in.

All three CHL leagues meeting in Toronto this week.

Expect the NCAA removal of ban on CHL players to be a topic. (NCAA has tabled vote until November, but expected to be lifted by 8/1/25.)
The ban should not be lifted. Kids that are getting an education that will never make the NHL will lose that chance to people that are going on to play in the NHL, make millions and never use the education.

The vast majority of kids in the CHL are not going to play at the pro level regardless so I dont understand the point of this rambling.

The barrier should absolutely come down, especially since NIL, and now revenue sharing in NCAA sports completely negate the point for why CHL players were legally barred to begin with.

ramble ramble. you are wrong.
These schools will target the best of the best.
It's going to happen anyway and the CHL will suffer greatly they cannot compete with the pro facilities found in the schools. nor the parties or ladies to live up the school days with.

The CHL has been feeding talent directly to the NHL for decades now lol. Its been the main proven development path for junior prospects until the NCAA and in general, US hockey have caught up to speed in the last 15~ years. Thats not going to change and it only encourages Canadas best NCAA bound committed players to stay within the CHL. Many of them will still sign NHL ELC contracts and play pro hockey instead of going to school.

And im not wrong. The vast majority of CHL junior players dont go on to play any sort of high level pro hockey anywhere, much less college. There are only so many roster spots on NCAA schools with hockey programs and CHL players still need to meet the grading, testing and entrance requirements to enroll there. Pro roster spots are even harder to earn.

That is going to change the NCAA has caught up and it is going to blow past them, they are not going to throw on the brakes. The decades of Canadian dominance are over. Prospects will want to play with the best and it will be in the NCAA.
Sure some guys will be in the CHL but the older better players will flood to the NCAA, It will be a young kids league.

This whole "Canadian dominance era over" opinion is hilariously wrong when you consider the talent that is still coming out of the CHL going straight to the NHL recently all these decades later and how they are still winning at a high level.
That McDavid fellow was sure trash in the Stanley Cup playoffs and finals after all. That Bedard fellow looks like a complete bust thus far for sure. Not looking so good for that Landon Dupont kid either it seems

The math thats hilariously wrong? No thanks lol.

Last I checked the Conn Smythe, Hart, Calder, Ted Lindsay, that were awarded this past season all belonged to Canadians who played in the CHL and went straight to NHL. If the math says that McDavid, MacKinnon and Bedard are all trash its definitely math thats incorrect :thumbu:
