I can't offer much here but I do know that my #1 player that I really hope the Petes select is Adam Benák. Friends and Team Czechia linemate of Adam Novotný (Petes 9th overall 2023 Import draft) and if the Petes could find a way to add both of these players, boy would that ever be impactful.

Call me delusional or what ever you want.
After his allstar and TOP goalie performances in U20 WJC's
some CHL team will draft Petteri Rimpinen in 1st round.
But Rimpinen's reporting to CHL will be another story
because he has a conract with Kiekko-Espoo in SM liiga for a season 2025-2026.
Other Finnish players who might get drafted to CHL import draft 2025.
Matias Vanhanen
Jere Somervuori
Vanhanen hasn't signed a liiga contract with HIFK
so he might even come to CHL if HIFK will not sign him.
Jere Somervuori is under liiga contract with HIFK and his reporting to CHL is a question.

A slight shuffle is possible here but Moose Jaw is locked in at #1.

Keep in mind the OHL has the draft lottery and I believe the results of that lottery carry over to this draft. I am not sure if the other leagues have the same lottery system.

I had forgotten that the lottery affects the Import draft order as well.
All 3 CHL leagues have draft lotteries so the order of top teams for the Import draft won't be known until the lotteries are held.

The WHL Prospects Draft Lottery involves the six non-playoff Clubs from the Regular Season.
A Club may only move up a maximum of two positions in the WHL Prospects Draft.
The WHL Prospects Draft Lottery will use a total of 21 balls, the allotment of which is as follows:
- last – Six balls
- 2nd last – Five balls
- 3rd last – Four balls
- 4th last – Three balls
- 5th last – Two balls
- 6th last – One ball
The QMJHL Prospects Draft Lottery involves the five teams with the least points from the Regular Season.
18th place: 9 balls, 43% chance of drafting 1st
17th place: 6 balls, 28% chance
16th place: 3 balls, 14% chance
15th place: 2 balls, 10% chance
14th place: 1 ball, 5% chance

A croatian forward who had over a goal per game in a decent pro league (AlpsHL) before coming over to Lincoln in the USHL where he has 29 pts in 21 games (second in the league in PPG at 1.38) He will surely be drafted this year and is an 05- just committed to Wisconsin for 26-27.

I like the QMJHL option. Usually the lower placed playoff teams are cannon fodder and usually only marginally better than the non-playoff teams. I think expanding the candidate pool to eight teams and not allowing them to move more than 2 spaces higher makes sense. Maybe draw three balls which allows three teams to move up in similar fashion to the NHL process, just less teams involved?
Five teams or 3 per conference with significantly better odds for the lowest placed teams and limited movement (down) seems right to me.
