Wow, McKenzie is some kind of punk for throwing punches at Lorentz while he's literally laying on the ice. I dunno if that's suspension-worthy, but by God it ought to be.
Looked like he went flying in both fists in the air and just decked him, then sat on him and punched him several times while in the ice...I see no way the league can let that go without suspension

Still a lot to clean up, but glad they pulled out the win. Not a fan of these Wolves announcers.

Yeah, I don't think there's a lot of "cleaning up" to be done at this point in the season. I think it's basically "survive and advance" time.

Watching these two games, I think it's also important to point out that Chicago is a *much* more veteran team than Charlotte. Most of their key guys are in their mid- to late-20s (Tye McGinn 28, Curtis McKenzie 28, T.J. Tynan 27, Stefan Matteau 25, Gage Quinney 23, Griffin Reinhart 25, Jake Bischoff 24, Josh Atkinson 26 and Zac Leslie 25) and have a bunch of NHL experience. We've got Jurco, Schilkey, Sanguinetti and Tokarski, and the rest of our guys are prospects.

As a result, Chicago is a much stronger team physically and they are more solid with the fundamentals. I think they're a better AHL team than we are. We're a young team getting by on talent and speed. I was surprised at how much we were getting pushed around on the boards and in the faceoff dot until I looked some of this stuff up and it made sense. On top of that, our young guys have got to be running on fumes by now. Morgan Geekie, 20, just played his 89th game of the year, many of them on back-to-backs and even three games in three nights situations. Gauthier, 21, would be over 90 games had he not been injured in Game 7 of the Toronto series.

There's nothing wrong with that. I'd rather be us than them, especially in two years when 4-7 of our guys are in the NHL. But I think they've got to be huge favorites to win this series.

Roy has been playing some great hockey. Necas and Bean obviously have more high-end skill, but Roy will be key if the Checkers are to get by Chicago.

I agree with this. He's one of the few who plays a "heavy" game for Charlotte. He was very noticeable, especially killing penalties. From a prospect standpoint, I'm really worried about his skating. But in this series, he's definitely a key guy.

I’m impressed by how much Necas has grown over the course of the year. He was very “fish out of water” during his limited time in the NHL early this year, but he’s looked absolutely dominant playing for Charlotte.

Hope to see him with the big club next season.
