Hagel = 6th round pick
Amirov = 1st rounder + another 1st

even at #27, to say there's no decent chance to get an NHL'er there is disingenuous

now I get not wanting to trade him, which is fair.
Are you suggesting Mark Stone is worth a 5th round pick?

Hagel is no longer the player he was when drafted, thus he is worth a different amount than his original draft position

Where he was drafted has nothing to do with anything at this point. It’s more likely than not that a player taken in the late twenties will not be as good as Hagel, so it makes no sense to trade him for such a pick as a centerpiece of the trade.

How do you figure a late 20 something pick couldn’t turn into Hagel? Hagel himself was a 6th round pick. There is so many chances there.
Where Hagel was drafted has zero relevance. Where he sits noe is a young, effective and cost controlled middle 6 winger with term. A pick is significantly less likely to pan out than a developed player. Its a simple concept

Just as simple as saying a 20 something pick couldn’t turn in to a Hagel.

What satisfaction do you get out out of continuing to pretend people said that when no one did? It really just makes you look silly.

Where Hagel was drafted has zero relevance to his value.

What are you talking about?

This is Hockey's Future Trade forum!

Draft Position and total points listed on their stat sheet is ALL that matters to 80 percent of posters that are chiming in on value of players they have never actually watched play.....
