My take on Seth (having watched every game of his in a Hawks sweater).

He's a black hole on offense yet he is allowed to play the role of elite offensive D. His shot from the point is terrible, rarely gets through, yet he's near the top of the Hawks in shots taken. His playmaking is either simple & predictable or...he takes a second too long to make the better play which often ends up in getting burnt. But he's always being the playmaker type.

IMO, that's where his +/- suffers, he attempts to generate a huge amount of offense but can't score for crap often neutering the plays by being "the guy."

On the flip side, his D-game against the best players in his own zone is still quite strong. Knocks big guys & puck strong guys out of the play with ease. In his end he's great on the walls and makes the basic shut down plays at a high level.

If put in a role where he focused on the defensive side of the puck he'd be very valuable, albeit not at that cap hit. But holy hell he's not supposed to be in the role of elite offensive generator.
