What is the current ask for Anthony Mantha?

The Hawks need another forward and it appears on paper that the Wings may need a D.

Would a trade based around TVR for Mantha work? If adds need to be made what would they be?

I don't think Detroit is in any position to be dealing away talented prospects, especially for a bottom pairing D man. The Wings need to hang on to Mantha and shouldn't trade him for anything other than an overpayment

Really don't see Detroit and Chicago being a match here, If we were to move Mantha as a bigger part of a package deal to land us a top 4 RHD/LHD Chicago can't help us there TVR is a bottom pairing D man and Detroit already has to many of those now. I would include Mantha as part of a deal for a signed Shattenkirk or Trouba or maybe even Fowler if need be. But Chicago really doesn't have a D man that would entice us to move Mantha.

Jurco being out for a while isn't an issue with me

Moving TVR locks down the spot for Forsling in everyday lineup and Jurco can join Hawks when healthy and we can see how it goes from there

I'd probably sell pokka for mantha if thats more interesting to anyone.

Wings have no room or need to trade for any D unless they are proven and are a significant upgrade to the top 4 right now, preferably even top 2.

Pokka isn't enough upgrade for us, To even think about moving Mantha for him. Unless it's a top 4 RHD/LHD preferably top pairing then Mantha isn't getting dealt. Pretty much think Shattenkirk or Trouba maybe a slim chance Fowler something like that in a package deal with Mantha included.

Not trying to hijack but would Oilers Pouliot for Krüger and TVR be of intress. Would work cap wise and Pouliot is more proven then Martha.

Didn't know mantha was still highly regarded

The Wings believe he has a bright future and their opinion is all that really matters if someone wants to acquire him. He's been playing great in the AHL, he'd be in Detroit now if they weren't stocked on the wings. Since he can be sent down w/o waivers he draws the short stick. Realistically tho he's likely better right now than several guys on the roster. Nothing new here, Holland has done this many times before. For some strange reason he isn't too interested in dressing his best possible lineup.

His value wasn't as high as it once was when he was coming out of junior. Right now he's much more NHL ready and could easily slot in a top-6 role. The Red Wings spent a lot of time developing him to the point where only an overpayment would cause them to move him.

Fair on all parts, but I'd seriously doubt anyone is going to give up a proven top 4D for mantha, thats just me. I flat out don't think hes going to top out at much more than a pretty good middle 6 guy. Which isn't bad, but I don't think hes worth a top 4D.

Still no, If we want wingers, we keep our forwards and trade our D. If you want Pouliot for TVR+2nd I'd say sure.

Why wouldn't he be?

3 years past his draft year and nothing done to keep the hype up from his draft. I don't thing having 0.52PPG and 0.71PPG in the AHL is setting the world on fire, so I don't understand how he is worth a proven top 4D let alone a top 2D.

No one in this thread suggested Mantha could fetch a top 2/4 D straight across

Detroit's problem is that they have about 5 2nd pairing defencemen and no top pairing defencemen. Adding another similar caliber defenceman hurts them more than it helps them. Adding TVR just creates a logjam and takes up cap-space which Detroit doesn't have.

Giving up their best prospect in order to accomplish this is laughable.

Your kinda cherry picking his stats, most people believe he was the griffs best player last year, he also finished the year with 11 points in 9 playoff games. So far this year he has 5 goals in his first 3 games. I know alot of people think he is a "bust" or that he wont turn into much because he just turned 22 and hasnt made the nhl yet, but the simple fact is sometimes it just takes some guys longer. You will find most wing fans are still quite high on him because he has been improving every year and wants to improve any way he can.
