Would three seconds get both guys? And what more would it take to get Murphy at 50%. I know Chicago will be rebuilding and the retention might actually help get Chicago to the cap floor for a rebuild. Also keep in mind Buffalo's second will be an early second.

I'd think each of Murphy and McCabe can get 1sts on their own. Their term should enhance their value. Teams balking at overpaying for rentals will likely turn to Chicago for either as an option.

Maybe. But if that's the asking price Buffalo's definitely out. Not giving up a top pick in this draft for either of those two or even both. Both guys are ok but both are injury prone.

I'm not familiar with Murphy but having watched McCabe his entire career I say good luck in getting a 1st round pick

Yeah, no way McCabe gets a first. And if they get a first for Murphy it'll be a late one if at all. It wouldn't be to far ahead of Buffalo's second. And in this proposal, Buffalo's giving up another second on top of that

Maybe from a team that's near certain to be picking in the mid 20s or later. Sure as shit aren't getting that from a team like Buffalo.

If Chiarot gets a 1st…. Plus, Murphy has term so it is not a strict rental. Somebody will definitely give a 1st for Murphy.

Murphy is way better than McCabe, It would be nice to get a first but a couple of seconds for both would be a fair deal, Murphy worth more than a second and McCabe worth less. Hawks would need a dman back so dump the guy in your top 6 you dont want as a roster filler assuming he does not have a terrible contract

Yeah, not thrilled with the idea, but he's better then what we have on our bottom pair now. And he only has two years left on his contract so that fits our timeliness for when we may need cap space. Plus we wouldn't have to give a whole lot to get him.

Like I said, if you do get a first, it's going to be a very late one from a cup contender and that will be about it. Buffalo's second is going to be a high second and another second on top of that. So would you want a pick from 28-30 or a pick from like 36 and 60? Buffalo's deal would be better IMO

I would have asked Tinordi instead McCabe, I would have liked him in the third pair and he is more physical than McCabe.
