Zegras hit Rasmussen up high (i think it was rasmussen), and didnt get called,

vatrano drew a peanlty 45 seconds before this, by taking a dive.

Vatrano skated towards Chairot.... and Chairot got scared and cross checked him.

Idk if chairot got Zegras (11) and Vatrano (77) confused maybe... as a dirty hit is something vatrano is more likely to do, and was avenging ramussen... but he def got the wrong guy.

This was so transparently a dive by Vatrano that it's not worth discussing.

Vatrano knew the officials would assume Chiarot hit him high and make a call against him, so he made a direct line for Chiarot, probably insulted Chiarot's mother, Chiarot tried a mild cross-check, and Vatrano flew to the ice so melodramatically that only an imbecile, or a Ducks fan (but I repeat myself) would be fooled.

The officials looked at this poorly-acted pile of cringe, and took a random guy off from the Ducks to offset the penalty they felt they had to call against Chiarot.

Apparently the aspect of team culture the rebuilding Ducks are emphasizing most is dishonorable shit-heel play. As a tribute to their team history, I assume.

This is all on the refs failing to manage the game. They missed the call on Gudas cross checking Raymond away from the play, they missed a clear shot to the head with Zegras on Ras. Then when a scrum ensues several minutes later, they decide to only penalize the Wings player, who's contribution in said scrum was to be put in a head lock. I personally hate the make up call nonsense, just call penalties as they occur. That said, and since it is clearly part of the game, to make the next penalty called after those clear misses on a Wings player, clearly showed that the Wings were going to have to police the matter themselves. Chiarot's hit, a little dirty sure, but the refs screwed the pooch on this one.
Every fanbase has to watch this happen to their teams, it's not the Wings. The refs need to be better.

Comparing this "cheap shot" to the zegras one is laughable.

The ducks player almost hurt himself by diving to the ice to sell a call, Chiarot barely touched him.
