Mikheyev has a NTC, not a NMC. He cannot block going on waivers and any team claiming him.

The union didn’t protest it happening to Barclay Goodrow, either. Or Todd Marchant back in the day, either.

There was no accompanying trade to go with the waiver claim, though. The Rangers can just say he made yo much money, so they waived him. The Sharks say he's a good player, we wanted him. If there was a trade that went along with it that said "we are doing this in bad faith to circumvent a clause negotiated into a contract", it would be pretty obvious to prove intent.

Yes, that's why it was allowed. This trade with a 2nd going in an "unrelated" trade would get ripped apart by the union

Adding Guentzel to that top six...

Guentzel-Miller-Boeser would be a f***ing insane line.

If Carolina doesn't finish the job. That can still happen. Canes can be quite picky about veteran contracts, to the annoyance of many of us Canes fans, but all of the speculation is pointing to Carolina willing to use the 8th year.

Not a bad move to move that atrocity of a contract.

Now ready for the atrocious overpayment of Guentzel and or Zadorov
please tell me what you think a “realistic” overpayment for jake and zado is?

Cheers
