That’ll be a “hell no” from the Lightning. We’d be giving up the three best pieces in that deal and receiving the two worst. At least try to put some effort into your proposals - this is embarrassing.

Fine, keep coburn would Giraldi or Stralman work?

We aren’t taking a cap dump of a defenseman and a forward who wouldn’t even crack our roster, much less paying you for the “privilege” of doing so. And anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock knows that the Lightning are looking to clear cap space; this makes our cap situation significantly worse going forward. There is no scenario in which we take on Keith’s contract - NONE.

So... Tampa's gonna do CHI a favor and take on $4M of Keith for the next four years, during which time they need to extend Point, Vasi, and Serg?

Lol, OK.

Who’s playing back there once coburn, stralman and giaradi all walk this offseason? Cernak and two league minimum guys?

Somebody who isn’t declining and who won’t wreck our cap situation. And especially someone who doesn’t match both of the above while requiring protection in the expansion draft.

Let me spell it out for you: YOUR. PROPOSAL. IS. GARBAGE. Stop trying to jam it down our throats and go away.

Fine would Gustafsson work?

Sure, he’s not going to help you win a cup but he’s cheap.

Keith is still a good defenseman, but as was already pointed out, TB needs cap space more than they need a single good defenseman.
They already have a number 1 and a number 2 in Hedman and McDonagh.

Sergachev is still up n coming (he is going through the expected growing pains....just like some guy named Provorov in Philly, but BOTH will be outstanding NHL blueliners) and yea, Coburn, Stralman, and Girardi will be UFA's, but the Bolts still might be able to retain one of them if they don't deman the moon...…...in the meantime, each one of those three guys play a solid role on the team NOW, so the Bolts can win NOW.

Oh, and as far as Cernak goes, he is actually a good defenseman too....better than most people give him credit for, and he has been a reason why TB is not desperately looking around for more defensemen.

I think the Bolts have pretty much all they need....if I were to pick something they could use still, it would be a tough net presence winger.
I don't think Chicago can provide that right now, thus they aren't good trade partners.

He's not a top pairing defender anymore and that's not going to get any better the closer he gets to 40.

Is tampa’s window open now. From what is sounds like it’s shut after this season. Since they will need multiple league minimum dmen for after this year.

A). Why the f*** even make a trade thread involving Keith when it's become obvious that people continually downplay his recent level of play?

B). That said, Tampa is not a team that needs much help in an area of the game and doesn't have much need for someone like Keith.

terrible offer yes no way in hell are you going to get a first for keith in tampa at 20% retained and four year contract that at any moment he can go down and be done we have had this happen in past...
that said Keith to lower cap team? or edmonton who could use his brain and winning resume? easy peasy move....

We got hedman mcdonough sergachev on left im not like sergachev is better then sliced bread.... you got a guy entwhistle 19 6'3 gonna fill out plays both ends and pk I like so is something that might work as a happy medium cause sooner or later some kids IE: raddysh etc.. are going to go and keith is a heck of a player that we can play at 16-18 minutes a game and probably forget about him... he isnt going to be doing power play though and probably not a ton of pk for us just as he doesnt for the hawks. his best attribute is his foot work and speed and he is 35 4 more years is a long time... so adjusting numbers closer to 35 retained and say entwhistle might make some sense. people dont see it yet in tampa but a lot will change this next two years again... A lot more then anyone probably wants to admit..... We cant be paying 5.35 milly though to a guy getting 16 minutes of ice and who has been used mostly as an offensive zone d man.... just cant do it.... does he have value yes.......... would it be better for you jay to target low cap teams and edmonton's yes at least with keith

p.s. right side is covered too if resign stralman i think personally karlsson is coming and we have foote who seems very capable... gaunce also is second in ahl in points.... we aint falling off the rails over here...

 Just stop. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Well who’s in your top 6 next year? Hedman, serg, mcdonaugh and cernak? Are you expecting 2 league minimum defenders to step into and be above average? That’s some cheeseburgher dreams there.

Your answer is embarrassing. The three best pieces as your response. Do this thread a favor and put some better thought in your response.

I mean Brayden Coburn is top pairing dman and not some 3million 6-7th dman.

Cap contenders never need dmen let alone quality ones. I mean the Hawks won a cup with 4 dmen

Tampa is fine on defensemen. Sure, Keith would be a good get for them this season, but they are also being tightly squeezed by the cap and it's not like they NEED someone like Keith on their back end.

Too many immature children on this forum. Learn to accept “no” for an answer instead of lashing out when you don’t get what you want. Do your parents know you’re on here and talking to adults?
