Is this extension deserved? He really struggled at times with the Pens.
I've liked his play with CHI, wouldn't have been opposed to bringing on board NYI as a depth player.

Good for Laff.

Well deserved in my opinion.

His ice time went way up in Chicago and it has paid off. He hits everything, good energy guy who also chips in offensively every few games.
I have no issue with this extension at all.

He’s been a nice find for the hawks. His effort and skating has been noticeable every game. Has played with physicality and pks well enough. Has hands of stone though.

Was a good spot for him to be moved to. Bad team with spots open forward wise.
If he could only finish. But one of the hardest workers out there.

one of the worst players I've ever seen
Lafferty or Nylander???? Hawks obviously like Lafferty. Nylander dont play in the NHL..Lafferty is plug guys who plays hard, fast north south hockey and can drop the gloves now and then.
Good signing by the Hawks

I came in with no expectations and he's been a great fit in the bottom six. Good motor with wheels and a tiny bit of talent. He's a fourth liner but he makes things happen with hard work and plus wheels. I'd much rather have him at 1.15 than not.

I am happy the trade worked out for both teams and Lafferty.

Nylander could join the NHL next year.

Anything *could* happen, but that would be a shock, frankly. And it would probably say more about the Pens lack of depth if that happens. I don't see him pulling a Sonny Milano, and he's certainly not the two-way force you'd want on your bottom six. The only value I see from Nylander is to make our AHL team more competitive.

Thank you. Great signing.
Sam Lafferty was such a pleasant surprise for the Hawks,

Most i was surprised how skilled he is,
i mean holy moly he can deke!, how quickly
he can shift his weight around, change
the direction during dekes. - hands and legs

His skating attributes, abilities were already known fact
but...even that surprised me, such a strong skater,
also, how quickly he can get to full speed, good stuff.

With little less aggressiveness, haste and more thought and fines,
he could be the perfect 2nd line guy for the Hawks,
- or a perfect 3rd line center, with #1 PK role
and some PP opportunities as well

He has such of spirit and willingness to show that he can play
hockey at the NHL level, what most only can dream of having,
but his game needs some fine tuning.

He gives, leaves so much on the ice after each and every shift,
it is such a joy to watch him play hockey, - he truly loves the game

He has become one of my favorite Hawks players.

Yeah i agree, if the NHL would be called the SHL next season .....
zero reasons for you guys to giving him a contract

The jokes aside, its more likely that AN returns to Europe
what playing in the NHL next season. - Already about 350 pro games under his belt, most of them in the AHL
was drafted 6 years ago, has made zero progress, development, you have younger and better forwards
to select, to the line up.

This is one of many players that are useful for the bottom 3 / 6 of their forward group. They need to find some elite top line players once Kane and Toews are gone
