Uhg, sad to see a great 'Hawk who cared enough to take a huge discount go.

Hammer was their best 'D' man. Pure 'D'. Makes no sense to me. Don't think they'll make the playoffs this coming season.

Sounds like the reason Hammer had AZ on his trade list was OEL.

Sounds like Chayka targeted Hammer for awhile to satisfy OEL. I think OEL re-signs next summer. Good move.

Bergevin must have tried really hard to get him as he love his former Hawks

That being said he has no young dman like Murphy within his organization

Closest would have been Juulsen + McCarron

He NO LONGER has a young defenceman with 25 point or more capability because he crapped on him at the season ending presser, reduced his value, then gave him away.

Awful, awful asset management. For someone who says he values d-men, MB totally destroyed the value of his own.

Beaulieu is better than Murphy and we could have offered Hudon instead of Dauphin.

Wow :shakehead

Hjalmarsson probably didn't want to be traded to France.

I bet he only accepted a low tier team like Zona because one of his best friends in hockey plays there.

OEL and Hjalmarsson could be like Klefbom and Larsson...offensive D-man paired with a good defensive stalwart. D-men like Larsson and Hjalmarsson are very underrated.
