Has anyone seen Scheifele, Wheeler or Connor ever play defense?
Yet Laine was moved out because he did not play defense.
Makes perfect sense gm Chevy.
In Chevy we trust. LOFL
Is Avgard back on HFJets threads under another name... ?

Maurice is a f***ing idiot, the longer Chevy keeps him around the more I question him.
Not sure what else to say right now. If I wasn't so sick I'd probably be furious but honestly that's not a high priority. I can't even point my finger to one thing. The forwards have lost their creativity and finish, on top of not playing 200 feet anymore. The D is still kind of garbo so that's not new. Our goaltending is bullshit, and on top of that, we're riding the hell out of Helley even tho he's been mediocre for a month now. I could understand if he was red hot you'd want to ride it out. But shouldn't we be managing this guys time?
Just insanity top to bottom.
Don't even get me started on our leader. Wheeler and Scheif are a f***ing disgrace right now.
Those guys are not great defensively but Laine is orders of magnitude worse than them so imagine how bad Laine is defensively.
O'Maurice living highlife as first line NHL coach coming in from Russian farm league! How long can coaching perversion go on before it is stopped!

Its possible. If the Jets are in LTIR with Little's contract next year, then sliding Heinola's ELC saves them space by postponing his bonus money.
That is a very positive suggestion, response. My extreme suggesting x'ing out JMo & Scheif, to get an A+ #1 RD was in saying, if Chevy/Maurice do not find another higher tier RD and play Heinola, and get a new coach to energize and guide Scheifele back to a more 110% effort and 200 ft ice awareness, then they better let go a couple "franchise players" (their words not mine). And bring a real franchise player.Jmo with his contract and play the last few years doesn't return a Hedman type dmen. You'd be selling him from a position of extreme weakness given how we have used him the last few years.
The best bet for this org is to bring in a new coach and have a reset with our current core pieces and see if that makes a difference with some of our struggling players. No sense trading our players when there value is likely at rock bottom.
I have liked how JoMo is back playing engaged and physical hockey lately (last night not withstanding), let's see if he can continue to rebound with a different coach who likely won't stick him with a bunch of bottom pairing dmen.
Same thing with Scheifele, let's see if a new coach can get him back engaged and playing all around hockey.
I keep most of our core and add a good RD to it and bring in Heinola to see if that gets the team back on track before I go the major roster surgery route.
Depressing hey! No registered level of improvement overall. Yes, lost a lot of quality, decent experienced D within one year but...the defensive structural play and forwards input is lacking posiyive outcome, at best. At worst tjis defense flat out sucks. A large burden of responsibility has to be on the Defensive Coach, period. After 10 years and no discernable improvement, winning level from the backend, Change is warranted.
Yuck! He must be embarrassed, no?

What you suggest IMO exactly the best coyrse of action for Chevy & the Jets.
All you can ask is for the GM to recognize the deficiencies and address them. Covid and the x draft made that extremely difficult for most of the season and from all accounts he worked very hard to get what we needed leading up to the tdl.The problem with the Jets is they should have added a RW and RD at the tdl. They have 0 depth at the positions and it shows. Chevy bording on gross negligence on this one. Sad to because with just those 2 adds this team would win the North no question in my mind.
I admittedly was against it, but imagine if Stan was and everyday player all season and they did with Heinola what they're doing with Stanley. Then next season Heinola becomes everyday and Samberg gets platoon duty. We'd be in a much better spot next season instead of playing 2 very inexperienced defensemen. If the Jet's can sign a top free agent like Hamilton and then add Heinola, Stanley and maybe add Samberg or Kovacevic, our defence will be looking very different next season.
Idk I think we had a pretty great d for 5 of those years. I see the improvements in guys like Buff and Chiarot - I'm giving huddy some credit.
....
Neither of the two we gave up wanted to be in Winnipeg... that's the end of the conversation...
I am sorry... that's a fact...
