There were notable players who opted out of playing the tournament. So maybe not teams but players won't go because their NHL jobs are more important to them. I liked the hockey I watched during the tournament but it cost the Bruins their best dman. I'd rather he had gotten the injury playing for the Bruins rather than a tournament during the season.

I seem to remember Quinn Hughes being uncertain about joining and then Vancouver stepping in to shut him down. I think Tkachuk went on on a podcast to talk about it and he didn't seem to happy, claiming Hughes could play but Vancouver wouldn't let him. I also have a sneaking suspicion that a couple of the snubs from the USA roster were guys that didn't want to join in the first place but that's on hearsay.

I thought kinda odd because I think he’s coming back and those jerseys all have a C. However, I don’t think he is captain - Pastrnak is. I also don’t think Brad wears a letter. Not an insult just how it is

IMO if Brad returns, he wears a letter. They are very short on leaders, and he is one.
