He and Hampus are a solid 1-2 when healthy. The D needs to be built around them and they need to have a consistent partner. Stop frigging around with the pairings.
Get Hampus back, call up Poitras
Sacco Magic returns led by the D

They are not. Colorado off the top of my head spends moreAnd probably the most expensive in the league too.

Well for 25K more I'd rather have Makar and Toews than McAvoy and Lindholm. They are not. Colorado off the top of my head spends more
It's one team, but you could have taken 2 minutes yourself to look up that there are multiple teams paying their 1-2 moreWell for 25K more I'd rather have Makar and Toews than McAvoy and Lindholm.
Should have traded McAvoy in '23 immediately after Panthers series before he had control. I was aboard the move McAvoy train then but now you aren't getting as much for him as in '23. Guy has had exactly one dominant playoff gameAt 27 yo McAvoy should be entering his prime but fundamentally he has been grossly mismanaged in the last 4.5 seasons and his game has regressed each year.
With Krug's and Chara's departure in 2020, all special units were given to him on a silver platter.
At 22 yo McAvoy still needed a role model to work on his game and polish it. Instead he got a Krejci treatment of a revolving door with Lauzon, Reilly, Zboril and Grzelcyk, none of them a top pair Dman.
Eventually Grzelcyk was the one to stick with him. Next to him, McAvoy looked like a dominant Dman since Grzelcyk could not play physical, had no slap shot, a weak wrist shot, no gap control, short reach, his only above average skill was skating and edge work.
The standard was drastically lowered. There was no one to challange him. During the regular season the pair was good enough against mediocre and lottery pick teams. However, as soon as the playoffs started, they got exposed and were just rubbish.
McAvoy's Playoffs production since 2020:
2021 1G 11A in 11 games
2022 0G 5A in 6 games
2023 0G 5A in 7 games
2024 1G 5A in 13 games

Of course...oh and our #4 dman should play as good, or better than everyone's #3 dman...lolNo kidding.
What's your point, that the Bruins should have the best at every position?

from '22 thru '24 and that was last year G5 against Panthers.
If Carlo could hit, pass, shoot, and block shots, I would agree with you but since Carlo can do none of those things proficiently, then I have to disagree! Carlo would make a good 3rd pair Dman with limited ice time but if he is in your top 4 you are not going far.Studs - agree
Carlo- Lindholm very good

Sacco yesterday: “He’ll be out tomorrow again and then we will just see how he progresses'' Sacco said. "like I said he was going to be out through the weekend then we will re-evaluate.”Is there a rough timeline for this return?
It’s the shoulder that has regressed his game. Another Krug.He and Hampus are a solid 1-2 when healthy. The D needs to be built around them and they need to have a consistent partner. Stop frigging around with the pairings.
Honestly, I just think it's the chemistry of the first unit. Charlie is a passer. There are lots of pass-first PP QB's in the NHL, they just usually have shooters to their left and right. Here, Marchand isn't a one-time threat so he never shoots and Pasta hasn't been shooting as much on the PP because he's the only threat to score and teams cheat into his shooting lane. I think, if McAvoy was flanked by Pasta and JT Miller we'd feel differently about him as a PP QB.Interesting to see how the PP does with McAvoy back. Was the injury affecting his ability to QB? Or is he, despite being a very good Dman, just not a PP QB, as many have said?
