I believe it it Lindholm’s job to come down and cover that guy. At least in most diamond setups it is.

He isn’t supposed to, Mcavoy should have been on the puck carrier. Net front guy shifts to cover goal line Vegas player, left side player shifts net front. All players do their best to cover seams and that’s how it should have gone.

Coyle stunk in the last two periods, regardless of who should have covered the winner. He butchered a two on one and another rush or two. He can't play more than five or ten good minutes anymore. It is time to go in spades.

Coyle needs to go. He is part of the leadership team who preaches the style of play that he cannot play himself anymore. Once that happens, others tune him out.

He would garnish a lot of interest. Plays hard and easily fits in up down the lineup. Perfect playoff performer. He’s had his opportunities for points. Not going in for him this year. But he’s not alone in this category. Top D injury impact on all forwards is killing this team offensively.
Trade him and Marchand and bruins will be set for a quicker rebuild. I believe DOM mentioned trading Coyle in the offseason. Would like to understand why it’s more effective in the summer vs trade deadline.
