What are the expectations for Coyle? What does he have to do to be a "success" here?
I think we're all hoping he'll be a really good 3rd line center, that's what he was brought here to do, but what does that mean?
Bonino, Eller, Cirelli, Soderberg, Eakin, Lowry... to me, those are some of the better 3c's in the league, and some of the best teams in the league (TB, WAS, WPG, NAS) are represented by that list. I think if that's the expectation, Coyle should be impressive because IMO, he slots in at the very top of that list.
Charlie Coyle will find a new level in Boston and everyone will be saying that Minnesota chose the wrong Boston Boy.
IntangiblesThat's a weird comparison, considering Stempniak was in the middle of his (very good) career vs Coyle who was a 1st or 2nd year player for a 3rd of this sample size.
future coach written all over himA cool little snapshot of what Backes brings to the team. The things we don't see.
Yeah, They should of traded for EichelCharlie Coyle will find a new level in Boston and everyone will be saying that Minnesota chose the wrong Boston Boy.
