I don't know what he could have done on either really. He never saw the puck on the first goal I don't think, he made the stop initially but simply was just positionally making it, he never saw it coming so was not ready for any follow up rebound

Not overplay the first shot or pass. Binnington is very athletic so gets away with moving more than less athletic goalies. But it does cause him to get too far from his posts sometimes. Then when he recovers he makes some spectacular looking saves. Or the puck goes in to open nets.

The Super Bowl is played between two professional American teams. Nobody outside the U.S worships that game except Americans and we don't play it either.. Canada won DESPITE Binnington. He almost cost them the finals with his bad goals against Finland, Sweden, and USA in the first game of the tournament.

There's much better goalies than him. He got his chance. 1 decent game and 3 bad games isn't Olympic starter material.

He was fantastic this game and he can go out the way everyone dreams. Winning that big prize. He cannot be the goalie in 2026. It was a coin toss which binnington shows up today. Luckily it worked in the teams favor.

Fox's #1 skill by a LONGSHOT has always been his IQ. Between his speed (lack thereof) and shot (almost muffin quality) he tool box is surprisingly limited, but he usually processes and sees the game quicker than those around him so he can always make the smart play. Much harder to do that when all your opponents are superstars basically.
