My second best moment after seeing McDavid score the championship clinching goal is watching Auston Matthews sheepish reaction. Priceless.

As an aside, for the US, Slavin had a superb tournament, even though he was held pointless - very impressed with his play and his hockey IQ. So many plays where he prevented a good scoring chance. A shame he was on the losing team...

I’m glad Canada won but I had plenty of doubts. OT, crazy shit can happen. Penalties, crazy bounces, all kinds of stuff. It’s a crapshoot. Sorry, but I don’t have a high opinion of Binnington. He stood on his head. I thought the US was pressing play in the late 3rd and OT. But the game can turn, as it did here on a series.

McDavid scoring that, after a pedestrian tournament, was just poetic. Crosby was also having a mediocre Olympics before *that* goal. But the great ones always find a way to make it count, and tonight was 97’s moment. That was perfect.

And holy shit, Jordan Binnington went f***ing nuclear. The dude would just not let Canada lose. Absolutely incredible to get pegged as the weakest link and then turn into superman.
