just saying--I live over here in a place called the United Kingdom--so I get exposed to Canada and Yankee news equally. When the US won that last game--there was a massive bump. It was all the rage on foxnews and other American sites,

but now that they lost? They do not care and will pretend how they reacted after that one win? Never happened

Right, but it's all short term shit.

I wish this tournament meant hockey would overtake basketball and baseball here, but it won't. It sadly won't have that effect long-term or short-term. It's still a niche sport that's too expensive for most kids here to play. And it's not as big a part of the culture as in Canada.

Stone “wasn’t going” at any point in this tournament. No idea what took Cooper so long to finally get him off McDavid’s line.

Once McDavid had Marner with him, they were the most dominant line in the game. You had to know that line was going to win it in overtime.

Even the analysts and former players are saying they don't expect Binnington to start at the Olympics.

He had a save percentage below .900 playing behind team Canada's defence. I'll give him credit he came up big in OT - but he was shaky and kicking out rebounds all game. He was losing his net all game.

Team Canadas defense individually is very skilled but they were not good in this tournament. Both goals against tonight they were all caught standing around puck watching and they did it again in OT but Binny saved their asses.

Honestly, this may be the ice breaker for all-star games in pro sports considering players boycott them. This was entertaining and you could tell the players wanted to be there.

Never in doubt. US has a really great team now but at the end of the day, your elite players get it done and Canada still has the best top-end talent in the world.

I mean the US had some good chances in OT... it was certainly in doubt there for a second or two. But I agree the difference is still the elite skill. US skill players are great, mcdavid/Mckinnon are elite and that matters when it matters

Canada won DESPITE Binnington. He almost cost them the finals with his bad goals against Finland, Sweden, and USA in the first game of the tournament.

There's much better goalies than him. He got his chance. 1 decent game and 3 bad games isn't Olympic starter material.

That was not a ‘decent game.’ It was a tournament saving marvellous performance. He was Canada’s bet player tonight by far.

Give credit where it’s due.
