My favorite part of Americans losing is when they go out of their way to pretend they don't care. It warms my heart.

The U.S. fans who post here do care. We're hockey fans who care about hockey. Losing sucks. That's who you're posting with on this forum.

But the average Joe in America doesn't care about hockey 24/7 as much as the average Joe in Canada. Not even close. If you've lived and traveled extensively in both countries, you would understand that. There's no comparison. This is like the 5th most popular sport in the U.S. unless it's once in a blue moon, like this tournament.

Tomorrow we'll have the NCAA tournament or some school shooting, and all this will be forgotten by the mass media and/or sports media.

Wild to see how this is some people’s Super Bowl, speaks volumes about what doesn’t need to be said. Also crazy how this is more razer thin than people like to admit, remember this your nations soul sport 😂😂. Enjoy the title your nations players were reluctant to hoist! See you in the Olympics.
Seemed pretty important to the Tkachuk brothers and all the Americans chanting USA! USA! at TD Garden, maybe go talk to them.

Most clutch goalie in Canadian history? LOL

Canada won DESPITE Binnington. He almost cost them the finals with his bad goals against Finland, Sweden, and USA in the first game of the tournament.

There's much better goalies than him. He got his chance. 1 decent game and 3 bad games isn't Olympic starter material.

All you guys are acting like what he did was a fluke. Weird how all the Blues fans knew it, team Canada coaches and execs knew it but no no, some coach potatoes know better than the professionals that have been in the sport their entire lives.

What a game! Instant classic. Hats off to both teams. Atmosphere, passion, intensity was incredible.

New level of respect for Jacob Slavin, saved 3 goals tonight terrific defenceman.

Binnington with robbery in OT, 97 with the golden goal, rest is history.

If Brady does ask for a trade out of Ottawa, every single GM will be inquiring for his services. You win with guys like him.
Agreed 100%. Brady played fantastic, and if his brother had been available, their style and relentless play could easily have turned this final on it's head.

So fantastic to see some of the game's greats compete like this, and so many of them for the first time. Not sure they will compete quite like this next time it happens, it has been a loooong layoff, so plenty of pent-up emotion and desire. It. Was. Great.

NHL, PLEASE figure out a reasonable way to put Russia, and the Czechs, and the rest of the hockey nations and their players into this format, and frequently!

I'm very happy that Canada won. I actually missed the winning goal for a strange reason, the first massive goal at this level have missed in decades. Oh well. Huge win for several reasons and this became one that the country could really use. This is not quite the level of the Olympics (with NHLers) or the old Canada Cups but it's still a huge win. Lots of credit to USA - played a great game, very even on the ice and easily could have won. Losing sucks but that is a loss that there s nothing to be embarrassed about.

Last, credit must be given to Binnington. I ripped him, the whole country ripped him, but the guy came through in a huge way. Huge game from him and he earned his championship. Also a hugely significant game and goal for McDavid, already one of the best players ever. He and MacKinnon needed to be Canada's best players, and there is massive pressure in Canada when you are expected to carry the team at this level, and they were.

Big dawg we do those chants at every event it’s fun for us, this is the countries clear 5th sport, come on man educate yourself. I haven’t lived in the states in 15 years and they do those chants overseas 🤣

There's plenty of people posting here acting like they don't care, despite posting here.

This much is true.

Jacks hughes and adam fox will never win cups. Both were totally invisible this tourney when games got important and heavy. Holy passengers

Even if USA won, it would be all the rage for a few days and then quickly forgotten.

Don't confuse us with Canada. People here don't live and breathe hockey. Even in the big cities in the North and East. Let alone in the rest of the country. If your only knowledge of Americans is from posting with them on this forum, you need to travel more.

just saying--I live over here in a place called the United Kingdom--so I get exposed to Canada and Yankee news equally. When the US won that last game--there was a massive bump. It was all the rage on foxnews and other American sites,

but now that they lost? They do not care and will pretend how they reacted after that one win? Never happened

Even the analysts and former players are saying they don't expect Binnington to start at the Olympics.

He had a save percentage below .900 playing behind team Canada's defence. I'll give him credit he came up big in OT - but he was shaky and kicking out rebounds all game. He was losing his net all game.

Lol. We're all going to make it man, it's all going to be okay. I promise.

Right...so the die hard fans on HF trying to say they don't care are coping.....because they care about the L. Nobody gives a damn about the casuals.

And yet we had politicians, athletes from other sports, the media etc. all wading in acting like this was super important and that they all love hockey all of a sudden.
