This is good. I mean, they can't win a Stanley cup, so this'll be nice for 'em. This and a little pat on the head should keep them pacified for a little bit.

I was at the game tonight, I'm from Boston so obviously was cheering for the Americans but I can't say i left disappointed. What am awesome hockey game.

The skill, competition and effort were all amazing. Imagine we all had to watch an all star game instead of that...

Also as a bruins fan I get injuries can happen from games like that, but injuries can happen whenever, sucks the bruins will be without Charlie for a bit but I'm still happy this tournament happened.

Brady Tkachuk, a loser again. The guy has never won a big game in his life. He’s actually never even played in a big game in his life. It’s pretty funny that he was considered America’s “best” player.

I mean, he had a monster tournament. If anything he’s gained huge respect. He may never win anything but that doesn’t mean he’s not a guy who everyone would want to try to win with.

Without Slavin stopping two sure goals this game never makes it to OT. Helly playing amazing all tournament or you guys don’t make the finals. If only they don’t score those goals.

All those things happened that’s hockey, that’s how you win
For sure Hellybuck was the US’s best player. They were missing Quinn Hughes though. Canada was much better with Makar this game than without him the first time these two clubs met. The US would be a lot better with Quinn Hughes.

Before the final: Has USA overtaken Canada?
After the final: LOL who cares about hockey?
Well, the best US player wasn't there, and that probly tips the US over the top...

Anyways, my level of excitement was honestly less than a 1st round play-off game (with my Canucks). I enjoyed the games, but I see this tournament as a warm up tournament for the Olympics.

The player I was most impressed with relative to expectations was Brock Faber. Knew he was good, but he was incredible this tournament, matched up against the best players in the world and came up on top nearly every time. Seemed invulnerable defensively.

So bridesmaids both times.

Other than, I think, one World Cup of Hockey when have the 'Muricans ever beaten Canada in an international tourney?

The Americans hockey program has been ass until the last 10 years because quite simply no one cared about the sport in the states. Thankfully, it’s gotten much better in the past decade and continues to improve, as we’re seeing 1st OA types coming through the USA program now. Good for hockey in general. But come on man back when I was a child it was a joke on talent level, the field has slowly evened out and it’ll hopefully (as a hockey fan) stay competitive like it is now. We’re all throwing jabs but the health of hockey is good for all of us, I hope this tournament grows the sport even though it’s a tad meaningless
