Have to question the decision to ice Matthew Tkachuk when he clearly wasn't good to go. Couldn't finish the first game against Canada, sat out game against Sweden, and then one period tonight.

Add that Kreider somehow played less time then him, US handicapped themselves by playing 10 forwards.

Binnington played out of his mind, especially in OT and robbed some great players with great chances.

Margins are always razor thin, it’s always a battle and always been that way in best on best. Canada lost to USA in round robin and won the final in OT as well in 2010. The separation is that Canada also won 2014 Olympics and 2016 World Cup.

For some their Super Bowl was Saturday night.

Canada's elite guys showed up and that's all you can ask for, people also need to stop criticizing the goaltending, how many tournaments have we won with people always telling us our goalies are weak, this is the Canadian national mens hockey team in front of you, we've never needed super elite goaltending to win gold medals and international tournaments.

Guys like Roy, Brodeur, MAF, Luongo Price, etc calibre are of course great to have, I think we could tweak that development and start getting more future studs out of Quebec. But Binnington was lights out tonight, played like his Blues cup run, very nice.

Werenski, Slavin, B.Tkachuk, Guentzel, Matthews, Larkin stood out in a positive way for USA. Jack Hughes had a rough go, looked overmatched tonight and had a quiet tournament. I get that M. Tkachuk was banged up but he was underwhelming even prior, at least against Canada.

Canada never seemed to find their chemistry but the star players were still noticeable and dangerous for the most part. Crosby was on & off. Marchand was underwhelming. Bennett proved to be a great addition to the team. I liked most of the D especially considering the injuries. Parayko was solid, Doughty played his ass off, Toews & Morrissey impressed me all tournament. Makar showed glimpses of his true self tonight.

Two of the best rosters ever assembled battled it out to a thrilling OT, what more can you want?

Doughty was a beast tonight. Great choice to have him on the team for his experience.

He could've been better, but he took those Tkachuk hits like a champ though. What a tourney and final bout. Great for the game of hockey to get some legit exposure, that 1st Canada vs. US match was explosive. Sam Bennett is just a beast of a player, wish the Kings would've traded for him when he was available. GG Canadia, sorry Americans have been so insufferable lately.

I was just explaining to you the difference between the nations in regards to hockey. I think this generation of American hockey is as good as it’s ever been that was a very good group of hockey players top to bottom and they played some inspired hockey.

Really fun tournament to watch. I was apprehensive about the whole thing but it was pretty awesome.
