PSV have had the best two chances imo but Atletico has had more chances. Would have been happy with 1-1 PSV have definitely put in a good performance.

Second season in a row Atleti go to ET at home in the R16

Man City held to a scoreless draw at home by Kiev, meaningless match, City were unmotivated while Kiev were content to defend, they did create two decent chances in the final 10 minutes and forced Hart to make good saves but by then it was too late. City make the quarters for the first time in their history

PSV and Athletico with a 'shoot-out clinic'. Simeone getting the crowd riled up right before Narsingh's shot made a difference IMO. Atleti may never play attractive football under him but he is the perfect coach for that club.

You can't help but love Simeone...I'm still not convinced as to how good a coach he is though.

You can when his players go around kicking your players.

Speaking of players who enjoy kicking other players, not sure who is funnier. Arbeloa for his commentary on Atleti going through or Filipe for his focus before the match.

The first 60min. of this game were really entertaining and played at a very high level, after that it seemed both teams were done. Not much between the sides and really clutch penalties all around. Terrific atmosphere throughout the game, something we don't see often anymore.

Fun fact: Athletico Madrid-PSV was both the lowest scoring tie and the highest scoring penalty shoot-out in CL history.

When you're dealing with a lion, you expect him to take a swipe at you from time to time.

If history is anything to go by, Arsenal will pull off a surprise win tonight but still fail to advance.
