It can be done without a real 9 if you have quality wingers - as long as uou also top notch offensive midfielders.

We saw that the season City reached their first ever CL Final as Pep was phasing Aguero out.
They have quality Wingers. But no 10. And no 9.
City had KdB.

Arsenal had the same exact play. No call.

I thought you were comparing the penalty calls, as both games were decided by a single penalty shot...

I suppose in a way they are comparable because they are both following the letter of the law, but not entirely common sense.

This group stage is rather meaningless
I think it matters a lot to finish in top 8. Besides that I agree

Not having to play an extra KO fixture is likely a big deal, and there are going to be a lot of strong teams in that 9-26 tier.

What I don’t know (and another reason I hate the format) is what the incentive to finish 1st is compared to finishing 8th.

If LFC win against Madrid and get to 15 points, they probably don’t have to go strong in their last three games and that’s where they can find some rest. That’s where I think the biggest difference will be. I think 15 points probably keeps you safely in the top 8, so the sooner you do that the sooner you can take start incorporating some rest

Yeah, finishing top 8 is the big deal. Barca’s run-in will only get tougher, but as of right now there isn’t a single team that I fear.

I think you’re getting mixed up. He’s not talking about Inter’s penalty the other day.

Gabriel did the exact same thing as Mings did against Bayern, but it was not given as a penalty.

Yes, I got that after his last post. But like. Sure, it's something that happens all the time and teams never get punished for it. This time the ref decided to call it. It is what it is. We've seen a good deal of that ourselves on the receiving side so like :dunno:

Then and there
Milan struggled to beat Slovan Bratislava away, their defence carved open many times on counter attacks.

Rafael Leao helped them to win 3-2 after coming on for the 2nd half.

Atletico Madrid trashed Sparta Praha surprisingly easily 6-0.

Penalty for Leverkusen but that would be harsh. Could be overturned.

Edit: Wow, penalty given. Handball but clearly unintentional and hard to avoid.

And Wirtz converts.
